As toilet paper is becoming a rare find during these uncertain times of the coronavirus (COVID-19), many of you may be searching for alternatives to clean your delicate areas after using the bathroom. Our answer: Install a bidet. It’s beneficial for your hygiene, environmentally friendly, and will leave your bottom feeling fresh and clean!

No, we’re not referring to the expensive ceramic bowls that require a bathroom remodel – we’re talking about the more affordable option of a handheld bidet.

This plumbing fixture can easily be attached directly to your toilet or faucet without any major plumbing experience required. Not sure how to get started? No problem! Dustin Queen from our Contractor Sales team will walk you through the installation process of two bidet starter kit options. (Scroll down to skip to the video). Let’s get started…

What You’ll Need:

A Hygienic Sprayer Kit (found in our plumbing department) OR “Make-it-Yourself” kit (we’ll help you get everything you need from our plumbing department).

Bidet Installation Option 1: Hygienic Sprayer

The Hygienic Sprayer is meant to be attached to your toilet tank.

Step 1:

Unscrew the supply hose on the bottom of your toilet tank.

Step 2:

Connect the fitting that comes in the bidet kit to the nub on the toilet tank where the supply hose was connected.

Step 3:

Connect the new supply hose that is part of the bidet kit to the fitting.

Step 4:

Remove the protection nub from your new hose and sprayer (make sure you don’t lose the screen in the hose connector) and attach it to the fitting.

Step 5:

Turn on the valve on the other side of the fitting and spray away.

Remember: the water coming from your toilet tank will always be cold!!

Bidet Installation Option 2: Make-It-Yourself

This option allows you to attach the handheld bidet to your faucet so you can use warm and cold water. You will have to gather all the supplies in our plumbing department, as we sell the pieces to this bidet installation separately. If you’re unsure of what to buy or where to look, our team here at Homco is always available to help you gather all the materials required.

Step 1:

Unscrew the aerator from the faucet.

Step 2:

Attach the new fitting to the faucet.

Step 3:

Attach the new sprayer and hose. Voilà – you have converted your faucet to a handheld bidet.
