Mike Brackin

President, Local Owner

Mike Brackin is the President and Local Owner of HomCo Lumber & Hardware. A resident of northern Arizona since 1980, Mike has 38 years of experience in his field. He holds an Arizona Contractor’s License (Commercial/Residential), and is a lifetime member of the Northern
 Arizona Building Association Board of Directors. Mike also sits on the Forest Stewardship Council and is past president of the Northern Arizona Building Association.

 Mike graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing. He believes it’s important to invest in his people, and he has created a career-oriented culture where the average length of employment is seven years or longer. “My favorite part of the job is watching my people grow,” he says. “I love watching them get excited about the ideas they 
implement. I let my people take the ball and run with it.” Outside of work, Mike enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family at Lake Powell.

Todd Callan

Chief Operating Officer

Todd Callan joined HomCo Lumber & Hardware in 2000 bringing over twenty years of lumber and hardware experience with him. He holds an Arizona Contractor’s License and enjoys sharing his expertise in residential and commercial construction with HomCo customers, employees and the Flagstaff community. As a Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International he has gained valuable leadership skills in providing a positive workplace with the focus on the development of the employees. Todd believes the success of HomCo is driven by the strength of its people. Knowledgeable employees in a focused but friendly workplace, led by seven core values, positively impact the service to all HomCo customers. Todd is passionate about all aspects of his work at HomCo but his most memorable moment is from 2009 at the HomCo Lumber & Hardware’s 3rd Annual Shoes & Brews Charity Horseshoe Tournament. “We made a donation to the family of Dawson Merrick who was diagnosed with Leukemia,” says Todd. “It was touching to see the money go to help the family during such a difficult time.” A resident of Northern Arizona for over 40 years, Todd enjoys everything the area has to offer. He loves to spend time traveling, hiking and mountain biking with his wife, but during the summer Todd and his family can most often be spotted boating the canyons of Lake Powell.

Dan Groth

General Manager

Dan has been involved with the construction trades since 1978. For the last 17 years he’s worked as a general contractor, building award-winning custom homes. He has extensive knowledge in material procurement, accounting, estimating, and project management. Happy to call Flagstaff home for nearly 30 years, Dan spent his teens in Scottsdale and his early childhood in Pipestone, Minnesota. Dan is an active board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff. Dan enjoys work every day. “The culture at HomCo is great; it makes you smile when you walk in to work as well as when you leave for the day.” As a Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International, he enjoys sharing his leadership skills with everyone willing to learn. Away from work Dan enjoys golf, playing disc golf , and spending time with his wife, traveling whenever possible.

Christy Engle

Store Manager

Christy joined the HomCo Lumber and Hardware team at the end of 2018 and took on the Store Manager position at the beginning of 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in Leadership from Western Colorado University. She comes from a family of builders. Her uncles and brothers are contractors here in Flagstaff and in the Verde Valley. Prior to HomCo, Christy taught math, and coached soccer at Page High School, and worked at Antelope Point Marina. While there she developed a Boat Charter program on Lake Powell for the exclusive guests at Amangiri Resort. Also, Christy’s involvement in the Lake Powell Challenge fundraiser, which supports The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, grew the event from $40,000 per year to $250,000 per year. Christy will always have a teacher mind set and is honored that HomCo has allowed her to help lead, build, and teach the team in the retail store. Christy stated that “HomCo is more than a hardware store because of our dedication to the community, associates, customers, and people. With our core values and family environment, HomCo is a great company that anyone would be honored to be a part of.” Christy loves spending time with her Husband and four kids, riding horses, hiking, riding bikes and exploring Lake Powell.
